This is probably the most difficult section to write
on this web portal simply because it is mostly opinions and feelings
rather than fact, and because not everyone's tastes are the same. We
all know that there can be a fine line between what is said and how
it is interpreted so we will try to put across all points as clear as
possible. If we have missed something or there is something you would
like to clarify, please do not hesitate to contact us using the 'Contact
Us' page of this site. Also if you do have any tips that you think my
be useful to others here, please send them to us and we will share them.
The Simple answer to "Why Slovenia?":
Visit Slovenia,
See Slovenia
then S
!

I have been asked many times why I choose to live in Slovenia rather than the UK and I tend to use one of two answers, the first is "because I have time for Cappuccino" and the second is "because Slovenia is, in my opinion, is as the UK was 30 years ago".
The first answer is easy to explain when you understand that for me, living in the UK and London in particular, I had little or no time to do the things I wanted to do. Work from 7am until 7pm most days, fighting traffic just to get home, chores at the weekend and back to work Monday morning thinking where did the weekend go? In fact it was more like "where did the last 10 years go?"
The explanation for the second response is a little more difficult to put across but I will try: I grew up in the north of England, in what many would describe as 'a one horse town', everybody knew everybody, doors were never locked,we played in the street and life was simple. In my opinion, living in Slovenia is very much like the old days but better, now we have television, internet and holidays in places other than Blackpool.
The tricky part to this is trying to explain that there are many of the old ways of life here, without making you think that life is dull and all Slovenes drive Trabbants or tractors. Life in Slovenia is what YOU want to make it! Slovenia can be as quiet or as cosmopolitan as you would like it to be depending on where you live and how you want to live. We will try to cover a few topics to give you some idea of how life is here in the centre of Europe.
We hope that by reading through the sub categories in this section, you will have an insight to life in Slovenia, if you feel that we have missed something or there is something in particular you would like to know, please email us through the 'contact us' page and we will endeavor to find the information you require.
